Each board features a reversible design with one smooth face and one brushed face, providing flexibility in achieving the desired aesthetic. The 137mm profiles have a deep embossed pattern on both faces, while the 88mm boards feature a lighter embossed pattern. This design not only enhances visual appeal but also contributes to slip resistance, with the 137mm boards achieving an R11 rating and the 88mm boards an R10 rating.
Weathering Characteristics
Over time, ModWood decking undergoes a natural weathering process, with the wood fibres changing to a silver-grey colour. This lightening of the board's colour primarily occurs during the first few months after installation and is more noticeable on the smooth face. The brushed finish experiences less pronounced changes, and the embossed lines become less distinct over time.
Low Maintenance
ModWood decking is designed to resist warping, cracking, and splintering under normal conditions, eliminating the need for sanding, sealing, or painting. It is also highly resistant to weather, moisture, and termites, ensuring longevity and minimal upkeep. Regular cleaning is recommended to maintain its appearance, and products like Aqualis® Composite Bright can be used for effective cleaning without damaging the deck.
